Important Announcement

Starting September 8, 2009, all non-emergency American Citizen Services (renewal of U.S. passports, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, and Notarials) will be provided by appointment only. Links to the online appointment system will be provided under the appropriate service category on the left.

Public Hours for American Citizens Services (ACS)

Notarial services:
Mondays and Thursdays, 9:00-10:00
Wednesdays 2:00-3:00

General services except notarials:
Monday through Friday 9:00-12:00
Mondays 1:30– 3:30

Consulate Location: Str. Filipescu 26, behind the Hotel Intercontinental on the first street parallel to Magheru Boulevard, in Bucharest.

For security reasons, the following may not be brought to the Consulate:

  • large bags such as backpacks and luggage
  • laptop computers, electronic devices, cameras or video or audio equipment
